Some would argue that sparkling wine producers the world over will always live in the shadow of those of the venerable Champagne region; we would contest otherwise. These wines are truly exceptional in their own right. Made in the traditional method of bottle fermentation followed by time-honored lees ageing in bottle, riddling and disgorging by hand, both of these sparkling gems are elegant and sophisticated examples of the unrivalled and undisputable marriage of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties.
The Rosell family can trace its history back to the year 985 in Spain amidst the advancing troops of Almanzor. They settled in Mendoza in 1897 but only began making wine quite recently – in 1915! The winemakers describe this as “a covenant with time”. In any case, you can certainly taste the pedigree and heritage in these wines.
Only grapes from their own vineyards in Maipú (970 MASL) and Tupungato (1300 MASL) are used to make Rosell Boher wines, from clones specially selected to produce superior ‘base wines’. Combine generations of expertise with outstanding terroir and utterly exquisite packaging and all that remains is to savour the taste.
