Winemaking / Viticulture
Vineyards specialising in varieties from the Muscat family are often ‘split picked’ - fruit is picked first for crafting fresh and vibrant Moscato style wines, while the remainder of the vineyard is harvested later for the creation of fortified wines. The fruit was picked in the cool of the evening and the juice handled air-free in order to preserve freshness and aromatics. Cool fermentation with aromatic yeast strains retains the lovely varietal flavours of the Muscat grape. The ferment is stopped early to maintain the perfect balance between natural acid and grape sugar in the final blend.
Winemakers Comments
The palest of rose pink, this Split Pick Moscato offers a delicate and enticing mix of pink roses, fresh strawberries and musk. With flavours of exotic tropical fruits, the palate is delightfully light and fresh; a subtle balance of sweetness with a crisp finish. Perfect as an accompaniment to a delicious brunch, or just on its own in the afternoon sun.
